CONVOY BATTLE

REPORTED OFF COAST OF PORTUGAL AT LEAST ONE U-BOAT SUNK. ALLIED SHIPS DAMAGED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LISBON, October 25. A battle between an Allied convoy and U-boat packs is reported to be going on off the Portuguese coast outside territorial waters. The battle has been raging for two days. At least one U-boat is reported to have been sunk and several Allied ships in the convoy to have been torpedoed, but it is believed that none has sunk.
