LIBERTY LOAN DRIVE IN AUSTRALIA AN ADMIRAL’S SUPPORT \ ANTICIPATION OF DECISIVE NAVAL BATTLE. (Special Australian Correspondent.) ‘ SYDNEY, October 21. “It may well be that a naval action will be fought in the Pacific which will be so decisive and so complete that it will rank with Trafalgar and be commemorated yearly for all time. On the anniversary of Trafalgar which was celebrated today, this likelihood has been expressed by Sydney s naval commander, Rear-Admiral MuirheadGould who emphasises that United States naval leaders will lose no opportunity of bringing the Japanese to action. Admiral Muirhead-Gould was speaking in support of Australia’s fourth liberty loan of £125,000,000. The slogan for this loan, which is the greatest subscription ever sought from the Australian people is “Back the Attack.” A record target of 750,000 investors is also aimed at. Sixteen trading days remain before the loan closes. Australians have been told that the Government will seek a further £300,000,000 in loan subscriptions this year and the most intensive publicity campaign of the Commonwealth's loan programme has been directed to this end. Subscribers to liberty loans now wear distinguishing badges The order of priorities for Australians says . a Government spokesman, must be “living expenses, loan subscriptions, with luxuries last of all —but preferably more loans.”
