SIGN OF WEAKNESS

HITLER’S CONFERENCE WITH GENERALS I AND NAZI PARTY LEADERS SPECULATION IN LONDON 'By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m. LONDON, October 20. Hitler is losing his influence over his army and political leaders. This is the conclusion drawn by some London observers from the Berlin announcement of a conference between Hitler and leading Nazi Party members and High Command members. The Berlin radio revealed that the conference was called by Marshal Keitel. Mr Ward Price, writing in the “Daily Mail,” says it is likely that the meeting was called independently of Hitler and presumably in a spirit of disagreement with his policy. Mr Price adds that this may prove one of the most important pieces of news from Germany for a long time. Such a meeting has never before been held. The German generals so far have been required to keep out of politics, taking their directions from Hitler.
