SERVICE IN PACIFIC
' BRITISH AIRCRAFT-CARRIER VICTORIOUS. PARTICIPATION IN BATTLE OF BISMARCK SEA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, October 20. It is now revealed that the British aircraft-carrier Victorious was lent to the United States Pacific Fleet to overcome a temporary shortage. The Victorious was launched in September 1939, and participated in the Bismarck action in May, 1941.
