LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FINE AND MILD. COOL NIGHT TEMPERATURES. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Light north-easterly winds. Weather fine. Cool night temperatures with some light frosts, but mild day temperatures. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fair to fine and mild. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: —Shade temperature, maximum, 54; minimum, 30; terrestrial, 22; sunshine, 5 hours 18 minutes; frost, 8.4 degrees.
