BREAK IN PROSPECT
ARGENTINA AND THE AXIS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) ' NEW YORK, October 18. The President of Argentina, General Ramirez, has given definite assurances to a group of Latin American Governments that he will break from the Axis “as soon as he can make the necessary arrangements.” The Santiago correspondent of the New York “HeraldTribune” quotes diplomatic circles for this information. They reveal that a formal assurance was given to the Brazilian Ambassador in Buenos Aires, who with the Brazilian Foreign Minister is reported to have organised joint diplomatic action requesting Argentina to associate herself with the other nations in the Americas.
