ENEMY PLANE SHOT DOWN

OVER CHANNEL.

(British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY, October 17. Early on Sunday there was slight enemy activity over the south coast of England, states a communique issued by the Air Ministry and the Ministry of Home Security. A few bombs were dropped, causing little damage, and no Mie was injured. One enemy aircraft was destroyed by one of our fighters over the Channel. Observers on the south coast say strong formations of aircraft passed over the coast of the Folkestone district early this evening, flying towards the French coast, between Boulogne and Dieppe.
