LATE RATES MAINTAINED
AT CARTERTON SALE YESTERDAY. TOTAL CLEARANCE REPORTED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Fat hoggets (prime), to 36s 6d; fat hoggets, 26s to 275; fat b.f. hoggets, to 33s 6d; fat wethers, to 445; fat b.f. wethers, to 30s 6d; fat ewes, 275, 27s Id, 27s 9d to 29s Id. Cattle: Jersey cows on drop, £ll 15s, £l2 17s 6d to £l3; fat cows, £6 12s 6d to £10; forward cows, £4 to £5; store cows, £2 to £3 10s; cull cows, 25s to 355; 2-year Jersey heifers, to £5 10s; bulls, to £8 15s. Pigs: Baconers, to £4 17s; forward stores, £2 10s to £3; store pigs, £2 to £2 7s 6d; slips, 30s to 38s; weaners, i good, 23s to 255; medium, 19s to 225; small, 14s to 18s. I
