OBITUARY
MR WILLIAM E. CHAMBERLAIN. The death has occurred at Gisborne of a former well known resident of Masterton in Mr William E. Chamßerlain, son of the late Mr and Mrs E. E. Chamberlain. The late Mr Chamberlain, who was born in Masterton sixty years ago married Miss Florence McGregor, daughter of Mrs and the late Mr Duncan McGregor, of Masterton. Fn’r some years he was manager of the flourmill operated by Mr E. E. Chamberlain, and was later associated with the Masterten Implement Company. He then went to Gisborne and became a most efficient secretary of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association, which position he held for many years and earned him the respect of a wide circle of friends. While in Masterton Mr Chamberlain was a keen worker in connection with Knox Church activities. He is survived by his widow, a son serving with the forces in the Pacific, and two daughters, one, Mrs Miller, being a nursing sister in the Middle East, while the other resides--in Gisborne. Mr R. E. Chamberlain, t>f Masterton. is a nephew of the late Mr Chamberlain, who is also survived by a bi other at Waverley and three sisters, Mesdames J. Smith (Wellington), Graham (Auckland), and McGregor (Sydnev).
