The Dominion of Canada Bureau of Statistics first 'wheat crop estimate • is 296,000,000 bushels, or approximately 50 per cent of the 1942 harvest and the smallest wheat crop since 1937. The new crop, however, is larger than any harvested during the five years 1933-37 and was produced on the smallest acreage seeded in wheat since 1918. Oats are estimated at 499,000,000 bushels, a reduction of approximately 152,000,000 from 1942, and barley at 222.000,000 bushels, a reduction of 36,000,000.
