Two days of battle in the river triangle north of Gomel have ended in a serious defeat for the Germans, states a Moscow message. The German losses here are reported as very great. So aiso were enemy losses in material, whn the Russians captured ammunition trains and immense stores hidden in a forest. * Vast quantities of other stores were abandoned by the Germans during their retreat. The Russians have crossed the river pocket north of Gomel.
