LONDON, October 13. A Moscow conununique reports big new successes on the 600-mile front from White Russia to the Sea of Azov. The Russians have broken through the German defences north and south of Gomel. On the Middle Dnieper they have pierced the enemy defence line south of Kiev and advanced up to four miles. In the Dnieper Bend, they have advanced from five to eight miles. Further south, Soviet forces have broken through strong German defences, after a three-day battle. In the far south, Russian artillery is firing across the Kerch Straits against the German defences on the Crimea.
