Weather dull and cold with widespread rain. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Continuing cold and unsettled. The Waingawa Sub-Station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature: Maximum 67, minimum 53, terrestrial 52. Sunshine, 5 hours 24 minutes. Rain, 34 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 15 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER. Full moon, October 14. Last quarter, October 21.
