EKETAHUNA

RED CROSS CIRCLE SHOP DAY EFFORT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Secondary Department Junior Red Cross Circle of the Eketahuna District High School held a shop day recently in connection with the 21st birthday celebrations. A wheelbarrow, made and donated by M. Ramsay, of Tane, was the prize for a competition which was won by Mr. L. Brown. The children’s effort altogether raised over £lO, which is being donated to orphanages and to several parcel funds. Mr. A. H. Gray kindly lent his shop for the day. The officials of the Circle are: President, Mae Carseldine; vice-president, John Dawson; secretary, Muriel Gray; treasurer, Alec Golder. V.A.D. Inspection. Miss R. White, Red Cross Commandant, Miss Dorsett, Lady Superintendent, and a number of V.A.’s were present at the inspection of V.A.’s at Pahiatua on Sunday, by Miss I. Crooke, Director-General of Voluntary Aids in New Zeaalnd.
