LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO CLOUDY CHANGING SOUTHERLY WINDS The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate southerly winds turning northeasterly. Weather fair to cloudy and cool. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Mainly fair. The Waingawa Sub-Station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 25 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Shade temperature maximum 64, minimum 51; terrestial, 46. Sunshine, 9 hours 48 minutes. Rain, nil. And for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today: Shade temperature, maximum 66, minimum 42, terrestial 31. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER. Full moon, October 14. Last quarter, October 21. New moon, October 29.
