NEED OF GOING RIGHT ' THROUGH EMPHASISED BY COLONEL KNOX. LAST WAR STOPPED TOO SOON. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) NEW YORK, October 7. “It is obvious we stopped the last war too soon. This time we must carry through to the bitter end unless we want to face another war in 1963.” This was stat W. by the Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Jfiox. at a Press conference at Balboa, on h’s return from the European theatre. Commenting on the fighting in Italy, Colonel Knox stressed the excellent performance of the British and added that the six different triphibious components 'of the Anglo-American sea, land and air forces were co-operating splendidly. The question of the Italian Fleet was still under discussion, because the problem of the crews was not yet solved. Referring to the battle of the Atlantic he said: “The U-boats are out again, but we won the first round and expect to win the next.”
