FEATHERSTON
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meetoing of the Home and School Association was held in the High School on Monday night, Mrs Fellingham presiding. There were also present: Mesdames Houghton, Algie, Neilson, Carlyon, Saunders, Messrs Jones, Farrier, Kilsby and C. Buck. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Farrier for the donation of a cake. It was decided to ask the school committee to start work on the school grounds as soon as possible. Miniature Rifle Club. The following scores were registered by members of the Featherston Miniature Rifle Club in a competition on Monday night:—D. Flynn 99, L. Rasmussen 96, K. McKenzie 94, A. Burt 94, F. Clark 94, Mrs Thurston, C. Foster, D. Feast 93, Mrs S. Hodder 92, R. Johnson 91, Mrs F. Clark 91. D. Burt 90, K. Feast 86, J. Gain 84, A. Johnson 81, K. Wenden 67, M. Hutana 49, G Cole 48 Personal Items. Mrs Bert Higginson has received word that her brother, Private H. Harrison, Wellington, who was a prisoner of war in Italy, is now safe in Switzerland. Mrs J. McKenna, Petone, and Mrs King, Auckland, are the guests of Mrs J. McKenna, Senr.
COSY THEATRE “FLORIAN.”
Tonight’s excellent programme wlil be headed by the brilliant drama “Florian,” a story of the days of Austria before the great war. It is a picture which should not be missed. The leading roles are taken by Robert Young, Helen Gilbert and Irina Baronova.
