ALLEGED INDEPENDENCE FOR PHILIPPINES

The Tokio official radio announced that the Emperor has appointed Shozo Murata, supreme advisor to the Japanese Military Administration in the Philippines, to be Ambassador Extraordinary to the Philippines. Plans for the independence of the Philippines are proceeding smoothly and speedily, added the radio. Jose Laurel, presidentelect, and other members of the forthcoming Free Philippines Government, are visiting Tokio for conferences.
