WHERE.—At all money order offices. WHEN.—From October 11 to 30, during hours and on days to-be announced. Watch your local paper. EVERYONE must secure a new ration book BEFORE OCTOBER 31. ' THINGS TO REMEMBER. To obtain the new ration book there must be produced: 1. A separate application for each person on Form F.R.I, as detailed below, and 2. Your old ration book (2nd Series). See below if you do not have one. 3. Your Social Security book. ON RECEIPT OF THE NEW RATION BOOK— See that you are given the correct book according to age on December 31, 1943, as follows: — 10 years and over —Book R. 8.1. (BLACK Print). 5 years and under 10 —Book R.8.1a. (BLUE Print). Birth to Age 5. —Book R.8.1b. (GREEN Print). Write your name and address immediately on the front cover, and keep book safely till told what coupons may be used. NONE OF COUPONS IN NEW BOOK IS YET AVAILABLE. ADULTS (16 years of age and over). —Form F.R.I is to be filled in, signed by applicant or head of the family, and presented to an issuing officer with (1) The Social Security registration book. (2) The old ration book (2nd Series). CHILDREN (under 16 years).—Form F.R.I is to be filled in, signed by parent or guardian, and presented to the issuing officer with old ration book (2nd Series). Date of birth must be entered on application form. If the child is away from home or at boarding-school, parent or guardian is to secure the new book. WHERE OLD RATION BOOK HAS BEEN LOST and NOT REPLACED, or WAS NEVER ISSUED, the issuing officer will tell aonlicant what to do. , WHERE PHYSICAL DISABILITY or SICKNESS prevents personal application, applicant may hand Social Security book and old ration book to a friend, who may act as agent without further authority. Application forms for children, however, must be signed by parent or guardian, although books may be collected by an agent. MEMBERS OF ARMED FORCES living out of camo are to produce Form R. 8.4, issued by the Commanding Officer in each case, instead of Social Security book. BOOK FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS. A supplementary ration book will be issued to all expectant mothers, who have not already received it, at the same time as the new general ration books are issued. APPLICATION is to be made on Form F.R.la and presented with the NEW ration book of the expectant mother, or at the same time as application is made for new ration book. The application form must be signed by the expectant mother, but the book may be collected by an agent authorised on the form. CLOTHING COUPONS in supplementary ration books may be used immediately the book is received as follows: — BABY WOOL COUPONS may be used for any type of wool or for baby clothing. “E” cannons are not required. INFANT LINEN COUPONS may be used only for infant linen. INFANT CLOTHING COUPONS may be used for clothing for mother and baby, and for infant linen, but not for wool. Other coupons in supplementary book are not yet available. The supplementary book will be exchanged for a child’s ration book when the baby is 6. months old. gUILD a new world.
