SUPERSTITION DANCE

AT AMERICAN SERVICE CLUB TOMORROW NIGHT SOME NOVELTY FEATURES Persons who believe that a black cat crossing their pathway means bad luck, that a broken mirror will bring seven years of bad luck, or who must say “bread and butter'’ when going around a telephone pole, should attend the Superstitions Dance at the American Red Cross Club on Wednesday night for more ideas on how to run into bad luck and how to avoid good luck, or if they preferred it, how to avoid bad luck and to acquire good luck. The club will be decorated in line with this superstitions theme. A novelty umbrella dance will be held. Every girl is requested to come to the club with the oldest looking umbrella (not a valuable heirloom) that might be found. A prize will be given to the couple dancing under the mostsorry looking umbrella. Another feature dance will be that of matching playing cards in order to secure a dancing partner. Girls will be given playing cards with blue backs and men cards with red backs. Then the couple having the same matching card according to suit and number will pair off for a dance. A musical chair march will be held with the fun centring around a chair labelled “Friday, the Thirteenth.” The last person to occupy that seat will be given a prize. Dancers at all nervous about walking under a ladder should take fair warning and enter the club by the back way. A regular dance will be held tonight at the club.
