MR. A. HARRIMAN
NOMINATION AS AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) RUGBY, October 4. Mr Averill Harriman, who has served since early in 1941 as President Roosevelt's personal representative in Britain on Lend-Lease matters, returned to London this afternoon from a visit to the United States. The president sent his nomination to the Senate on October 1 to be American Ambassador to Russia.
