HEALTH STAMPS
KEEN DEMAND FOR LATEST ISSUE HEAVY SALES IN DOMINION & OVERSEAS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The first day’s sales of Health stamps throughout the Dominion realised just under £15,000, whereas the proceeds of the whole of last year’s campaign, lasting for five months, totalled a little over £16,000. On the first day, Wellington sold approximately £6OO worth and Christchurch a similar amount. Proceeds in Auckland were £5OO and in Dunedin. £4OO. Hawera appears to be the best of the smaller towns, with over £lOO. Sales made overseas from the Chief Post Office already total over £lO,OOO. Six million of each of the two new Health stamps have been printed. If all are sold, the health camps will benefit by an amount of over £30.000. Already approximately one-seventh of the total number of stamps has been sold, representing about £5,000 for health camps. The authorities do not intend to print more than the twelve million stamps already printed.
