OFFICIAL COUNT COMPLETED MR MACKLEY’S MAJORITY 520 FIGURES INCLUDE MOST SOLDIERS' VOTES The official count of votes for the Masterton seat is as follows: — G. H. Mackley (Nat.) 4992 J. Robertson (Lab.) 4472 D. A. Thompson (Democratic Labour) 567 J. Power (Ind.) 269 Informal 52 Majority for Mackley 520 These figures include the service votes, absentee and postal votes so far to hand. A few more soldiers’ votes may still come in. The count on election night gave Mr Mackley a majority of 417. AIARLBOROUGH LABOUR CANDIDATE INCREASES , MAJORITY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. Mr E. P. Meachen, Labour, increased his majority by 22 in the official count for the Marlborough seat, which resulted:—Meachen (Labour), 5729; T. P. Shand (National), 5360; M. W. Grace (Democratic Labour), 541; A. Mackinnon (Conservative), 49; informal, 74. Majority for Meachen, 369.
