UNDER MURDEROUS NAZI YOKE MALNUTRITION AND DISEASE WIDESPREAD. POPULATION SHOWS DECLINE OF TWO MILLION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, October 6. “The French population has fallen by over two millions, owing to war losses, executions and starvation,” said Mr B. S. Townroe, M.A., secretary of the United Associations of Britain and France. “New-born babies averaged under 61bs. Thirty-four per cent of school children last year did not gain weight; many lost weight. The average manual worker lost 20 to 301bs. Deaths from tuberculosis increased 60 per cent. An infantile paralysis epidemic broke out jthis summer. It is harder to cope with diseases because drugs and medical supplies are seriously short.”
