SO-CALLED “REPRISAL”

50 FRENCHMEN MURDERED BY NAZIS. THREAT TO STARVE PEOPLE OF HOLLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, October 4. ■ Fifty Frenchmen were shot by the Germans in Paris this week-end. The Germans describe the executions as “a reprisal for increased sabotage and terrorism.” The Reich Commissioner for the Neherlands, Dr Seyss Inquart, has threatened the Dutch with starvation if attacks on the Nazis in Holland do not stop. He said that heretofore he had left enough food in Holland for the civilian population, in spite of German requests for more, but if the attacks continued the requests would be acceded to.
