At a gathering of the staff of the N.Z.F.C.D. Company, Ltd., Masterton, yesterday, a presentation was made to Mr Harry Smith, who has severed his connection with the firm after nearly 24 years of service. The manager, Mr S. J. W. Gill, said that Mr Smith had left the firm on account of health reasons, and would be taking up farming at Levin. He said the firm was sorry to lose Mr Smith’s services, and he paid a tribute to his capabilities and his fine personal qualities. On behalf of the firm and staff he made a presentation to Mr Smith, who returned thanks.
