Better Supplies of Oranges.
Better supplies of sweet oranges were offered in Auckland on Tuesday. The navel variety, grown principally at Kerikeri, realised 38s to 67s a bushel, while mixed lines from Avondale and Henderson and othei' local orchards sold at 21s to 27s a half-case. Drivers’ Licences. Last month the Masterton Borough Council issued 62 drivers’ licences, making the total number issued to date 1930. The County Council issued 23 licences, making 1023 the total number issued to date. Interhcuse Dance Tonight. The Wairarapa Interhouse Association will hold another of its popular dances in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, tonight. A special feature will be a fox trot competition for service men and their partners only. Novelty dances will be held, and Mrs Ashton’s orchestra will provide the music. Kindergarten Day. The Masterton Free Kindergarten Association Council met yesterday to make final arrangements for Kindergarten Day, to be held on Friday, Oct - ober 8. It was decided to ask members and friends for cut flowers to sell and to issue badges. A successful collection for annual subscriptions has been made.
