TOM NEWMAN DEAD
NOTED BILLIARDS PLAYER (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, September 30. The death has occurred of Tom Newman, the champion billiards player, after several years of illness from a throat trouble which caused him to enter hospital several times. He gave up the game about a year ago, after participating in numerous exhibition matches on behalf of charity. He was 49 years of age.
