BOCHUM BLASTED
HEAVY R.A.F. NIGHT ATTACK ON RUHR COAL & IRON CENTRE. OTHER TARGETS BOMBED AND MINES LAID. If LONDON, September 30. The K.A.F. again attacked Germany last night. The main target was Bochum, 10 miles east of Essen, the central Ruhr. It is an important coal-mining centre and has iron and steel industries. The attack was officially described as heavy. More mines were laid to menace enemy shipping. The night’s losses were eight bombers.
