The green should be in fairly good order at the opening of the season. Personal Items. Gunner O. Wadham, son of Mr and Mrs W. Wadham, Brooklyn Road, Carterton, is home on leave. Mr and Mrs Bambry, of Clifton Avenue, Carterton, have left on a visit to Auckland. Mrs Lyndon Aplin, of Tyne Street, Carterton, is visiting Lower Hutt and Wellington. Scarcity of Beef. Owing to the dry autumn which caused an acute shortage of feed, it is almost impossible now to procure beef and as a result butchers find that they are obliged to restrict their output. Women’s Division Dance. A plain and fancy dress dance will be held in the State Theatre, Carterton, under the auspices of the Carterton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union on Saturday night.
