PACIFIC WAR COUNCIL
REVIEW OF THE GENERAL SITUATION. (British Official Wireless.) (deceived This Day, 12.15 p.m.) RUGBY, September 29. The first meeting of the Pacific War Council since the appointment of Lord Mountbatten as Commander-in-Chief in East Asia was held in Washington today. Members of the council said they had conferred with President Roosevelt and reviewed the general situation in the Pacific.
