PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION

SCRUTINY OF MASTERTON ROLL. PREPARATION FOR OFFICIAL COUNT. The official count of votes cast in the Parliamentary polls takes place as soon as the scrutiny of the rolls is completed. The scrutiny is carried out as soon as all the ballot boxes are in hand and the counting of the postal and absentee votees takes place when the official tally is made. In a case where the voting is close either candidate, after the announcement of the Returning Officer’s official count, may apply to a Magistrate for a recount. In Masterton, a start was made this afternoon with the scrutiny of the roll. '
