CARTERTON SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., 'Ltd., report on their Carterton sale yesterday as follows:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Fat wethers, 34s to 365; fat and forward wethers, to 30s 6d; prime hoggets, to 36s 3d; fat b.f’s., to 33s 6d; fat hoggets, to 265; fat ewes, 265, 275, 27s 6d, 28s 6d to 29s 6d. Cattle; Jersey cows on drop, £7, £7 5s to £8 15s; springing cows, £5 10s to £6; Jersey cows just calved, to £6; springing heifers, £5, £6, £6 ss, £6 10s, £7 5s to £7 10s; fat Holstein cows, £9 5s to £lO 7s 6d; fat Jersey cows, to £9 10s; fat Jersey heifers, to £8 12s 6d; forward cows, £4 2s 6d, £4 ss, £4 10s to £5 15s; store cows, £3 ss, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d; cull cows, 20s to 355. Pigs: Store pigs, £2, £2 12s to £2 14s; slips, 35s 6d, 37s to 38s; weaners, good, 28s to 325; weaners, medium, 24s to 275; weaners, small. 20s, 21s to 235.
