PUBLIG WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. RATES FOR SUPPLY. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given of r the following alterations in the rates of sunply and conditions governing “Thermal Storage” water heating services in the Board’s area, and of a reduction in the charges for ordinaly Domestic Supply:— 1. As from October L 1943, and taking into consideration the labour, materials and equipment available, the Board shall forthwith proceed to instal the necessary meters to record the electricity supplied to all new and all existing thermal storage water heaters other than those on the 9 hours per day flat rate service. 2. From the time such meters are installed, all electricity supplied to such heaters shall be paid for at the following scale of charges and in accordance with the conditions of supply set out below. The electricity supplied to thermal storage water heaters (other than those on 9 hours per day flat rate- service) shall at the discretion of the Board, be recorded EITHER through a separate meter, in which case the charge shall be gd (.375 pence) per unit nett, OR through the half coil of what, is known as the split-coil meter, in which case the charge shall be half the price charged under the “Domestic” tariff set out below (Clause 6 (c)). The Board shall have the right to impose and vary from time to time such restrictions and conditions as it thinks fit as to the hours during which the service may be onerated at these rates. 3. Until meters are installed , as set out in Clause 1 above, the existing flat rate charges for electricity supplied to thermal storage water heaters on 21 hours per day, 16 hours per day, and 14 hours per day services, shall be continued. When meters have been installed on all such services, these flat rate charges shall be discontinued and cancelled, and no new installation on this basis shall be connected to the Board's system. 4. That from October 1, 1943, the charges and the conditions of supply to a thermal storage water heater for a flat rate service restricted to 9 hours in each day, shall be as follows: —£3/10/per 1000 watts per annum, or pro rata according to the size of the element installed, provided that this charge is. not apportionable to any broken period of less than one month. Any electricity supplied during the remaining hours of each day through a boosting element or otherwise shall be metered and paid for at the scale of charges applicable to the other electrical services in the building in which the water heater is situated. 5. No thermal storage water heating service shall be connected to the Board’s system whether the connection of that service is made for the first time or after the hot water storage container thereof has been dismantled unless the electricity supplied in respect of the service is controlled by a thermostat of a type approved by the Board and the setting of which shall be subject to the control of the Board. 6. Subject to the conditions set out below, and to coincide with the installation of the meters on the thermal storage water heaters, the following Domestic rates for the supply of electricity shall be cancelled:— < PRIVATE RESIDENCES ONLY. (a) Lighting and Usual Utility Points: Charges per unit. Gross. Dis. Nett, d d d (No. of rooms x 2) units per month 6 15 Next 60 units per month 2| 1 1-J Next 120 units per month 2 11 Balance of. units 11 J ;j (b) Domestic—Private Residences with Stovette, etc. — (No. of rooms x 2) units per month 6 15 Next 100 units per month 2 lj Balance of units 11- -J - In place thereof all electricity supplied to private residences for domestic lighting, cooking and the usual utility points shall be paid for at the following scale of charges:— (c) “Domestic” Rate—Lighting, Cooking and Usual Utility Points: Gross. Dis. Nett, d d d (No. of rooms x 2) units per month 6 15 Next 60 units per month 2 lj Balance of units 11 = Minimum Primary Units, 10 per month. Minimum charge, 3/- per month. The rate shall be brought into effect as follows: — To those “Domestic” consumers who have installed a thermal storage water heater: As soon as such water heater is either metered under Clause (2) above or on the 9 hours per day flat rate service under Clause (4) above. To the balance of the “Domestic” consumers, when 90% of all thermal storage water heaters are either metered under Clause (2) above or on the 9 hours per day flat rate service under Clause (4) above. A cony of the full resolution which, in addition to the above, includes the General Conditions applicable to all Thermal Storage Water Heaters, can be examined during office hours at the Board’s Offices situated in Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston and Martinborough.
