LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST SOUTHERLY CHANGE. WITH GENERAL RAIN. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, changing to south to south-easter-lies and reaching gale force in exposed positions by tomorrow. Weather overcast with general rain and some heavy falls in high country. Temperatures becoming cooler. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Cold, changeable and showery. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 43 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum, 59; minimum, 48; terrestrial, 45; sunshine, 3 hours 6 minutes; rain, 4 points.
