HEAVY LOSS
SUFFERED BY JAPANESE IN CHINA AT LEAST HALF OF BOMBING FORCE OF 30 DESTROYED BY AMERICAN AIRMEN (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, September 22. A Chungking message says General Stilwell, in a communique, states that 30 Japanese bombers, escorted by fighters. yesterday attacked Fourteenth Air Force installations. Fifteen of the enemy bombers and two Zeros were shot down. Seven bombers and two fighters probably were destroyed.
