Detective-Sergeant W. Kane, of the Masterton Police Station, has been promoted to the rank of Senior-Detec-tive. Mrs Roosevelt has arrived at Honolulu, on her homeward journey from Ne'w Zealand and Australia,, a cablegram reports.
On Sunday, Mr H. Temple White' completed 30 years as organist and choirmaster at the Taranaki Street Wesley Church, Wellington. . The death occurred this week at Pahiatua of a well known resident in the person of Mr Frank Fletcher Barraclough at the age of 57 years. The funeral of the late Mrs G. J. Jackson took place in Masterton yesterday afternoon. The Rev. G. H. Goodman officiated. The pall-bearers were Messrs C. F. Mills, W. K. Mills, L. Walsh and O. Symes.
