INDOOR BOWLS

MASTERTON CLUB SEASON BROUGHT TO A CLOSE The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club has brought its season to a close. The finals of the singles and pairs were played this week. In the champion pairs Lennie and E. Mooney (s) proved they were too good for Gleeson and Walker, winning by 20 to 11. The singles event was one of the finest games seen in Masterton, the contestants being F. Mooney and Freeman. Continually throughout the game both players would draw the shot, although F. Mooney retained a slight lead always and eventually won by 20 to / 15. / The president, Mr Pickering, con-' gratulated the various winners of trophies won during the season. Supper was supplied by a ladies’ committee.
