MASTERTON SEAT
INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. CAPTAIN JUSTIN POWER. Captain Justin Power, Independent candidate for the Masterton seat, was born in New Zealand and educated at Victoria University College, Wellington. Captain Power served for five years overseas in the last war, and rose from the rank of private to that of captain. He served for two years in this war in the Second Echelon, and was mentioned in dispatches in 1942 for distinguished srvice in the field.
Captain Power is an ex-Auckland Rugby representative, has represented Wellington at tennis, and played for the Second N.Z.E.F. in Egypt as a tennis representative in 1941 and 1942. He won the Haig Cup in an interAllied chargers’ jumping championship at an Army horse show in France in 1917. He has visited many countries of the world and has always been a close student of international and local politics. Captain Power has three sons serving in the present war.
