HYDE DISASTER
ENGINE DRIVER TO STAND TRIAL ON CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, September 20. The hearing of the manslaughter charge against John Patrick Alphonsus Corcoran, driver of the engine in the Hyde railway disaster, was resumed in the Magistrates’ Court today. After the evidence had been heard accused pleaded not guilty and, reserving his defence, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed in his own recognisance of £2OO and two sureties of £lOO each.
