GREYTOWN
MINIATURE RIFLES TEAM TO MEET FEATHERSTON. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the Greytown Miniature Rifle Club’s team to compete against Featherston tonight:—R. Tilson, Dr. Palmer, Miss L. Gray, G. Gray. Miss G. Gray, Mrs Maitland, M. Hobson, T. Morgan, H. Montgomerie, P. Brabender, F. Skeet, J. Eccles, H. Bockett, T. Moy, L. Wallis. Emergencies: Miss J. Gray, A. Moy and R. Gray. Personal Items, Mr and Mrs R .Wright and family have left to reside in Napier. Mr Wright was on the staff at the Greytown railway station and served with the railway unit in the Middle East, Mr and Mrs N. F. Skeet have left Grey town to reside in Masterton. Aircraftman M. Bouzaid was a visitor to Greytown at the weekend. The members of the staff of the Greytown District High School entertained Miss Hardie at morning tea prior to severing her connection with the school. The headmaster (Mr S. C. Shedden) conveyed the best wishes of the staff to Miss Hardie on her approaching marriage and presented her with a supper cloth. Exhibition of Curios. An exhibition of antiques and curios will be held by the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union onWednesday afternoon. Already some of great interest and value have been promised. Members are asked to assist by bringing curios and antiques to the exhibition. Golf. The mixed foursome for Mr McLeod’s trophy was played at the weekend. After twelve holes had been covered the match was stopped owing to the heavy rain. The winners were: S. Shedden and Mrs J. C. Feast and N. McLeod and Miss M. Wood who tied with net scores of 59 for twelve holes.
