HARRIER ACTIVITIES

KIATERE HARRIER CLUB. N. JACOBSEN JUNIOR CHAMPION. On Saturday in ideal conditions the Kiatere Harrier Club held its annual 3 1-8 miles junior championship. From the start a fast pace was set by N. Jacobsen and K. Greaves, who were closely followed by A. Pickett and E. Pickett. By the time the halfway mark was reached N. Jacobsen had a good lead on the rest of the field. This he maintained throughout the rest of the race, to win very comfortably. Detailed results are as follows: N. Jacobsen, time, 20.455ec, 1; K. Greaves, 22.8 sec, 2; E. Pickett, 24.125ec, 3. The seniors held a run over one lap of the championship course. The next runs will be held on Saturday, October 2, when seniors and juniors will compete in open handicap races for trophies presented by Mr and Mrs L. Francis. Training runs will be held every Thursday, night at 7.30 o’clock.
