General satisfaction was expressed with the reconstructed P. and A. building, which, Mr Smart said, would cost in the vicinity of £2,600. Mr Smart added that the bu-ilding was a good job, and was carried out at a satisfactory price considering present day costs. Mr F. C. Association advising that it would not make use of the Carterton Showgrounds for a show this year. “Considering the season we might as well be having an autumn show instead of a spring show,” said Mr C. Reynolds when a discussion was held as to whether or not the society would hold an autumn show. It was decided to defer the matter until the next meeting. “It looks as if we are jumping the Masterton Association’s claim,” observed Mr A. E. Hall. Mr Smart said the society would not hold, an autumn show permanently. Mr Cadwallader said the aim was to provide an autumn show as a show at that time was lacking. CALEDONIAN SOCIETY DONATION. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society offered its assistance at the show, and forwarded a donation of £lO 10s. The offer was received with thanks. It- was decided to send Mr T. Arcus a letter expressing sympathy with him in his illness. “The association has always treated the Wairarapa Rugby Union very well,” said Mr Smart, when a letter was received offering £6 as rent for the use of the showgrounds for the past season. He added: “The Union is not so pleased with the Masterton crowd, as it costs the union two to three hundred pounds -a year for rent and lease of the showgrounds.”
