— T LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST STRONG NORTH-EASTERLY WINDS WITH OCCASIONAL SHOWERS. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Fresh to strong north-easterly winds, reaching gale force in exposed positions. Occasional showers, chiefly in the ranges. Temperatures moderate. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Mainly fair. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D. reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum, 5tf.2; minimum, 48.3; terrestial, 39.6; rain, 41 points. Mr H. M.
