MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD INCREASE IN REVENUE. 11,000 VOLT RETICULATION. (“Times-Age" Special.) The revenue for August was £ 352 in excess of the revenue earned for the corresponding month Iqst year, stated Mr G. Brown, secretary-manager, in a report presented to the Wairarapa Electric Power Board at its meeting in Carterton today. The revenue was considerably less than the estimate for the first five months of the year and cost of power was also less, by a considerably greater amount. The position so far was very satisfactory. Three new consumers were connected in August, making the total 6377, as compared with 6345 twelve months ago. The chief engineer, Mr H. B. Keenan, in his report, stated that all the west side of the Masterton borough was now being supplied from the 11,000 volts reticulation. An opossum caused a power interruption in the central area on August 4. Only one report of a broken insulator was received during the month, an insulator on the Akura Road line. It was .broken by a bullet. The police and other authorities were ! still investigating the breakages reported the previous month.
