The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST; Fresh to strong north-westerly to westerly winds, Showers in the Tararuas, but fine elsewhere. Temperatures cool. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Southerlies possible with occasional showers. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 18 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows foi' the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum, 62; minimum, 42.5; terrestrial, 38.1; sunshine, 5 hours 48 minutes; rain, 20 points; frost, 2.3 degrees.
