WOMEN’S DIVISION
SOCIAL GATHERING AT TINUI.
COMPETITION WINNERS.
(“Times-Age” Special.) The Tinui branch of the- Womens Division of the Farmers’ Union held a most enjoyable social gathering in the Tinui Hall on Saturday afternoon. There was a large attendance. The children present wore fancy dresses, and dancing and musical games were enjoyed. Mrs Beck presided at the piano ,and Betty Beck sang sweetly._ Three bring-and-buy stalls did brisk business. Mrs J. Andrew was in charge of the plant and flower’ stall, Mrs C. Beiliss the oddments stall, and Mrs C. L. Hay. assisted by Miss Blomfield, the produce stall. Mrs H. Carson was in charge of the cake competition, which was won by Mr S. Schofield. Mrs Meredith’s parcel competition was won by Mr G. Wagg, and Mrs D Carmen’s competition by Mrs Meredith. Mrs Pain’s competition was won by Miss Langdon, and Betty Beck was second. Mrs R. Pilmer, assisted by members, served afternoon tea. The sum of £2l was raised for the branch.
