PRICE OF VICTORY

AUSTRALIAN MINISTER’S WARNING. YEARS OF MAXIMUM EFFORT MAY BE NEEDED.' ■ (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE, September 12. A warning that Australia must be prepared to make her maximum war effort for several years yet was given by the Minister of the Army. Mr Forde. “The news of Italy’s capitulation is a tremendous encouragement, and I believe it is a happy augury of the outcome of the war,” he said, “but we must not mistake this good news for an indication of the capitulation of the Axis Powers generally. We have to be prepared to carry on this war with determination and maximum- application for several years yet before we can hope to have a complete victory.”
