LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST STRONG WESTERLY WINDS. WITH MILD TEMPERATURES. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Fresh to strong westerly winds reaching gale force in exposed positions. Scattered rain in the ranges, elsewhere mainly fair. Temperatures mild to warm. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Similar conditions. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Shade temperature, maximum, 59; minimum, 46.5; terrestrial, 27.4; sunshine, 6 hours 36 minutes; rain, 2 points; frost, 3 degrees. The Waingawa Sub-station reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today-:—Shade temperature, maximum, 58.5; minimum, 36.7; terrestrial, 29.1; sunshine, 10 hours 54 minutes; frost, 1.3 degrees.
