GERMAN SURRENDER
LIKELY WITHIN SIX MONTHS
ACCORDING TO CHINESE GENERAL. RUSSIA MAY THEN JOIN AGAINST JAPAN. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright I (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) CHUNGKING, September 10. Russia will join in the war against Japan and the autumn of 1944 will see an armistice. —This prediction was made by General Apo Kai, a Chinese military spokesman. He added that he believed Germany would surrender within six months. There was every possibility that Russia would then come in, and after that Japan would soon collapse.
